Kildare County Council Education Bursary Scheme Provides Over €52,000 in Support to Local Students
Kildare County Council’s Education Bursary Scheme has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to supporting educational opportunities across the county, with over €52,000 awarded to 82 students this year.
Supported by funding from Kildare County Council and the Local Property Tax, the scheme received 109 applications, reflecting the continued need for financial assistance to enable students to pursue further educational opportunities. The bursary programme supports students and families by easing some of the financial pressures associated with further and higher education.
The bursaries represent an investment in both the recipients and the wider community. By supporting access to higher levels of education, the scheme increases opportunities for skills development and future employment, while also strengthening community development, and promoting social inclusion.
Commenting on the Bursary Scheme, Marian Higgins, Director of Services, Kildare County Council said: "The Education Bursary Scheme plays an important role in supporting access to education and creating opportunities for students across our county. We are delighted to have awarded funding to 82 students this year and wish all recipients every success in their educational journey.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the external assessment panel for their dedication, time, and valuable input throughout what was an extremely challenging evaluation process, given the exceptionally high standard of applications received."
Kildare County Council remains committed to promoting education, inclusion, and community development through initiatives that support individuals in reaching their full potential.
