Kildare County Council, on behalf of Ground Investigations Ireland, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it will close the following road during the period commencing from 08:00 a.m. to 16:30 p.m., Monday, 25 August 2025 to facilitate reinstatement of the existing surface following intrusive ground investigation works. Works will be undertaken within a 6m x 6m work zone and will be completed within normal working hours, as dictated by the Road Opening License.

Alternative Routes: Westbound vehicles on the R-148 will be diverted past the L-1025-1 and take the next left turn onto the L-5053 at Royal Canal Way, over Pike Bridge. They will then continue on the L-5053 then turn left onto R-405. They will then take the next left onto Obelisk Lane and continue to the L-1025-1 where the diversion ends. Eastbound vehicles on the R-148 will be diverted past the L-1025-1 towards Leixlip. At the new controlled junction (second set of traffic lights) diverted traffic will be directed right onto the R-449 southbound. At the next roundabout they will then take the 3rd exit, heading west towards the L-1025-1 where the diversion ends. Westbound vehicles on the L-5057 will be directed to stay on the L-5057 to its junction with the R-405 where it will be turned right. Traffic will then take the next left turn onto the L-5053 to its junction with the R-148 at Pike’s Bridge where it will turn right towards the L-1025-1 where the diversion ends. Eastbound vehicles on the L-5057 will be directed to stay on the L-5057 to its junction with the R-449 where it will be turned right at the roundabout and continue to its junction with the R-148 where it will be directed left towards the L-1025-1 where the diversion ends. |
Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
